Zakaat al-Fitr is charity (sadaqah) that is obligatory upon all Muslims to be paid before the Eid Salaat. The word zakaat is connected by idaafah (genitive structure in Arabic grammar) to fitr because the occasion of breaking the fast is the reason why this zakaat becomes obligatory.

Last year at Croydon ICT our collection allowed us to provide supplies to one of the poorest areas in Multan, Pakistan. Over 500 people benefited from our contribution.

At Croydon ICT we are continually striving to improve our facilities. Alhamdulilah with the support and donations from our community we have been able to build new Wudu facilities on the recently established second floor.

We at CICT have been watching the ferocious campaign made by various Masajid in the South East London area over the past three years.

Sawm is an Arabic word that means to fast. In Islam it means abstaining from eating, drinking and sexual intercourse from sunrise to sunset. Allah says:

Ramadan, the month of fasting, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is when the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (Sala Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam).

Alhamdulilah the carpet is now being laid on the 2nd floor of the masjid. Insha Allah this aims to be finished by this Friday (13th July 2012) which allows us to open up the floor for Jumah Prayer

CICT is pleased to announce on Monday 23rd June we received keys for the second floor and are currently in the process of extending the Masjid.
