Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu
As the blessed month of Ramadan draws near, our hearts are filled with the anticipation of spiritual growth and community unity. Ramadan is not only a time of fasting and prayer but also a time of compassion and giving, especially to those who are less fortunate.
This year, we have a special opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of the needy in Kenya by paying our Zakaat Al-Fitr early. Zakaat Al-Fitr, an obligatory charity given before Eid-ul-Fitr, ensures that everyone in the community can partake in the joyous festivities of Eid.
At Croydon ICT, we have set a humble amount of £4 per person for Zakaat Al-Fitr. This small contribution may seem insignificant to some, but for families in Kenya struggling to make ends meet, it can mean the difference between hunger and nourishment during the blessed days of Eid.
Our goal is to send all collected Zakaat Al-Fitr funds to Kenya, where they will be used to purchase essential food items for those in need. With your generous contributions, we can ensure that these provisions reach the hands of the needy before Eid, bringing hope and happiness to their hearts.
Remember, giving Zakaat Al-Fitr not only purifies our fasts and brings joy to those in need but also carries immense blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The fast remains suspended between Heaven and Earth until the Sadaqat al-Fitr are paid.” By fulfilling this obligation, we ensure our Ramadan is accepted and our sins forgiven.
To make your payment, members attending the Masjid can use the envelopes marked Zakaat Al-Fitr available at the donation counters. Alternatively, you can also make your payment using the bank details provided below:
